일리노이에서 운전면허증을 디지털화해 스마트폰에 저장해서 다니도록 하는 법안이 탄력을 받고있다.
알렉시 지아눌리아스 주 총무처장은 주 상원의원 마이클 해스팅스와 주 하원의원 캠 버크너가 밀고 있는 디지털 운전면허를 적극 후원하고 있다.
최근 IT가 대세인 상황에서 면허증도 디지털화해서 스마트폰에 저장해 놓고 필요시마다 찾아보는 것은 시대의 흐름에 맞는 것이라고 주장했다.
또 기존의 운전 면허증과 함께 디지털 ID를 사용한다면 더 편리해질 방안이라는 지적이다.
